Advancing Farming: Fertilizer Management Classroom
August 15 @ 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Join us August 15 at the Almena Community Center for a fertilizer management classroom!
The workshop’s keynote speaker will be Russell Hedrick, a first-generation farmer from North Carolina who is known for his innovative approach to no-till and nutrient management. He has been featured on TV’s Top Crop and is a dryland corn yield champion. Russell will teach attendees how to stretch fertilizer budgets to increase plant health and stabilize yield. His presentation will be divided into three topics – amino acid nutrition, utilizing soil and tissue testing to determine crop nutrient needs, and micronutrient benefits and application. Following Russell will be a panel of local producers discussing their application of fertilizer efficiency concepts.
This free event will include lunch and is open to all. Advanced registration is appreciated to ensure proper meal headcount.
