About Us
Soil conversation pioneer, Hugh Hammond Bennett, said “Take care of the land and the land will take care of you.” The Kansas Soil Health Alliance believes that profitability on Kansas farms and ranches starts with a productive soil. The Kansas Soil Health Alliance is a 501(c)3 nonprofit farmer and rancher led organization formed to provide practical information, resources, and events on soil improvement/soil health that can be used on farms and ranches in all 105 Kansas counties.
Our mission is to improve and protect Kansas soils. We invite all growers no matter the size of the operation or current farming and ranching practices to come learn new techniques and improve your knowledge about your soil through Kansas Soil Health Alliance events and resources. Our alliance will work with Kansas growers, agricultural groups, governmental agencies, NGO’s, and food production industries, to educate Kansas growers on the value of soil health practices and how they can be implemented to improve Kansas soils and bodies of water.
Being a farmer and rancher led organization, the Kansas Soil Health Alliance will see things from the grower’s perspective; a need to achieve profitability in an ecologically sound manner and to regenerate and restore soil productivity for future generations. Mr. Bennett said “A lot can happen to land within a generation,” the Kansas Soil Health Alliance will assist you in making changes now so that your land can be healthy and productive for future generations to come.
Our Mission:
To improve and protect Kansas soils.
We Seek To
