Grow Native! Webinar: The Pollinators Behind Your Thanksgiving Plate (VIRTUAL)
November 18 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Many of the foods we enjoy during the Thanksgiving holiday—from pumpkin pie and cranberry sauce to apples, herbs, and even dairy products, depending on dairy cow forage—are made possible by pollinators.
Join Dr. Tamra Reall, MU Extension Field Horticulturist, for a look at the bees, flies, beetles, butterflies, and other pollinators behind our traditional feast. This presentation explores how different pollinators contribute to food production, highlights the critical role of native pollinators, and explains why biodiversity strengthens our food systems. Participants will also learn practical, research-based ways to support pollinators through native plants, habitat conservation, and pollinator-friendly gardening practices.
This free webinar, to be held via Zoom, will include a presentation and a live question-and-answer session. The webinar will be recorded, and a link to the recording will be sent to all registrants and posted to the MPF YouTube channel.
