Bow Creek Field Day

The 2026 field day will focus on adding summer annual forages and small grains into the rotation. Paul Jasa, UNL Cropping and Systems Engineer (ret.) will discuss the benefits of annual forage and small grains, including reduced expenses and multi-year increase in water and nutrient efficiency. Diverse farm/ranch operation benefits include drought mitigation, increased grass production, and increased animal health. Technical information on species selection, planting dates and rates, grazing techniques, and other practical information from experienced producers will also be presented.
For those who live, work or support farmers/ranchers in the LCNRD area, this workshop is offered at no cost. All others will be charged $25 registration fee at the event.
