BioBlitz at Crawford State Park

September 15 @ 8:00 am 3:00 pm

We’re hosting our 3rd Annual BioBlitz! Last year you helped us gather data on a number of species, helping inform science and conservation efforts in our area! Join us at Crawford State Park on September 15, 2026 from 8am to 3pm. Rain date is the following Tuesday (09/22/2026). All are welcome to help document the pollinators in our area!

How to Participate: Just take pictures of plants, birds, insects, butterflies, bees, beetles, etc and then upload them to iNaturalist either via their app or via their website. To count towards our team with NRPA’s Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz, it has to be in September and the geographic location has to be the park.

We are working to get presenters and educators of conservation out there and setup at the CCC Memorial as well. So you can talk with them, watch their presentations, ask them questions, and understand more of how important pollinators are and what we can do to ensure a stronger corner of SEK.

Presenters Confirmed So Far:

Dan Mosier II – biologist and beekeeper
Martin Logan – Kansas Dept of Wildlife and Parks
Jaryn – SE district forester for KFS
Aaron – SE district fire management officer for KFS
Adaven – K-State Extension
