SUMMARY:Soil Health Measurements & Benchmarking: A Two-Part Webinar Series (VIRTUAL)
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a two-part webinar series focused on soil health measurements and benchmarking from the Soil Health Institute (SHI). \n\n\n\nThe first session will highlight SHI’s recommended soil health measurements and discuss how they can support efficient and scalable soil health sampling efforts. \n\n\n\nIn the second session\, we will dive deeper into how these measurements are incorporated into SHI’s soil health benchmarking – an approach used to understand how healthy a soil is today and how it could become. \n\n\n\nThis webinar series is offered through Farmers for Soil Health (FSH)\, an initiative designed to increase cover crop adoption by providing technical assistance\, financial incentives\, and educational resources. Whether you are new to cover crops or looking to refine your approach\, these sessions will provide practical insights that can be applied in the field.

SUMMARY:Conservation Agriculture and Soil Health (VIRTUAL)
DESCRIPTION:Join Conservation Nebraska and Dr. Humberto Blanco for a presentation that will discuss the impacts of conservation agricultural practices on soil health and ecosystem services. Dr. Humberto Blanco is a soil scientist and professor at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln\, known for his research on soil management\, soil physics\, carbon cycling\, cover crops\, and conservation agriculture. He is one of the most widely cited soil scientists in the U.S.\, with more than 21\,000 citations to his work. He holds a Ph.D. in Soil Science from the University of Missouri.

SUMMARY:Winter Workshop Series: Growing Soil Biology in an Arid Climate with Nick Vos
DESCRIPTION:Nick and his family\, reside in Hugoton\, Kansas\, where they farm corn\, soybeans\, wheat\, and sorghum. In addition\, Nick owns a seed business and has successfully integrated a Dorper herd into the cropping operation. Dorpers are a hair sheep breed\, used to harsh arid environments\, and fits in nicely with their “dust bowl” climate. Yet despite the environmental challenges\, Nic has successfully improved his soils. \n\n\n\nPlease RSVP by Tuesday\, Feb. 24th by calling the office @ 620-888-2054 or email clwreservations@gmail.com
