SUMMARY:Grow Native! Webinar: Transforming Stormwater Basins into Native Plant Habitats (VIRTUAL)
DESCRIPTION:Join Bekah Davis\, Project Manager at the James River Basin Partnership (JRBP) in southwestern Missouri\, as she shares how JRBP is working with businesses\, municipalities\, and individual landowners to convert traditional turfgrass detention basins into thriving native plant landscapes. \n\n\n\nBekah will highlight ongoing stormwater basin retrofit projects and explain how native plantings help protect water quality by slowing stormwater flow\, allowing sediment and pollutants to settle out\, and absorbing runoff through deep-rooted vegetation. She will also discuss the ecological and community benefits of these projects\, share real-world examples from across the James River watershed\, and explore how partnerships are making native plant stormwater solutions more accessible. \n\n\n\nThis free webinar\, to be held via Zoom\, will include a presentation and a live question-and-answer session. The webinar will be recorded\, and a link to the recording will be sent to all registrants and posted to the MPF YouTube channel.

SUMMARY:Green Cover Lebanon Plot Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a free cover crop plot tour and Q&A session at our first ever pop-up test plots in Lebanon\, Kansas. Thanks to Art Befort\, a local farmer\, we planted cover crop test plots following wheat harvest in July. We planted a variety of diverse mixes to learn more about how they respond in this unique planting period. Summer cover crops mean lots of diversity. We have everything from warm season grasses to cool season brassicas and everything in between.

SUMMARY:Kansas & Missouri Environmental Education Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Kansas Association for Conservation and Environmental Education (KACEE) and the Missouri Environmental Education Association (MEEA) invite YOU—educators\, administrators\, community leaders\, program providers\, researchers\, and advocates—to join us at the 2026 Kansas & Missouri Environmental Education Conference! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis conference brings together educators\, naturalists\, and community leaders from across the region for one of the most dynamic gatherings in our field. This year’s theme — Systems Connect Us All — reflects what environmental educators have always known: That the health of our land\, our communities\, and our children are inseparable. \n\n\n\nSessions span three interconnected strands: building deep relationships with land and place; examining the systems — schools\, food networks\, built environments — that determine whether people and ecosystems thrive; and strengthening the networks and partnerships that make our collective work more powerful. Your participation and support helps bring this community together\, spark the collaborations that outlast the conference\, and invest in the next generation of environmental leaders in Kansas and Missouri.
